Mission

Our mission is to train quality professionals in the academic, technological, social and cultural fields. With the ability to manage, detect and solve visual communication problems, required by the global, regional and national markets.

For us, design is a discipline that is nourished by several theories in order to solve the type of problems it deals with. For which in our institution we have several considerations for its definition.

First, the problems that the design solves are social, so they are linked to theories related to psychology, and communication.

Second, the solutions provided by our discipline have to do with questions of language, so that relations with semiotics are relevant.

And in the third place, for us it is very important to consider that the problems that the design resolves are indeterminate, for that reason, our approach is the rhetoric as the main axis from where the design thinking is developed. For our educational program, design is seen more as an intellectual process, than as the mere elaboration of a product.

 

Vision

Our philosophy is the integral development of the person, in the social, cultural, technological and academic fields; One of the main values is freedom to ideas, respect for people and cultural heritage, fostering the development of skills that generate attitudes on their own initiative.

Likewise, our vision is to link our profession with high disciplines and with the labor sector, to contribute in an important way in the solution of problems of the northern region of Jalisco and south of Nayarit. Achieve a competitive profile, so that our students are professionals with a great sense of ethics and sensitivity to social and environmental issues.

Objetivos

To train professionals with a high creative profile, who are individuals who propose strategies and solutions to communication problems, always with social responsibility.

To promote the design through the sample of diverse projects of the students of the Centro Universitario de la Costa pertaining to the Degree of Design for the Graphic Communication.

Design is a social activity, which allows to link the activities of people, institutions, companies, etc., with the sector of the population to which they are directed. It allows to clarify the communication systems, to be more efficient and precise in the strategies of marketing, image or promotion of cultural or mercantile inputs.

 

Most of the time you think of the design from the simplicity of the adornment, purely stylistic, without considering that in reality what you propose are solutions and strategies that go beyond visual or printed products.
