General Objectives of the EP
That the general objective of the Civil Engineering curriculum is to train professionals with a solid scientific base in the areas of planning engineering, construction, administration, geotechnics, hydraulics, roadways, structures and environmental sanitation.
That the objectives for each module are:
DESIGN OF CIVIL WORKS
- To provide students with the necessary scientific tools to model, analyze and design various types of structures required, with updated and state-of-the-art methodologies, in such a way that they satisfy all the conditions required for civil works that aim to improve the way of life of human beings, and
- To introduce students to the fields of research and innovation, both in design methods and construction processes that take advantage of current technologies in various areas of knowledge, such as the technological development of automated computing.
PLANING, CONSTRUCTION Y ADMINISTRATION OF CIVIL WORKS
- The student will be able to analyze the different studies, both technical and feasibility, necessary for the realization of a civil work, as well as to carry out such studies and make decisions based on them;
- The student will be able to compare, analyze, evaluate and propose different alternatives for civil works projects; and
- The student will be able to carry out the planning of both a civil work and a system, considering administrative, regulatory, economic, safety, environmental, maintenance and ethical aspects; in addition, he/she will be able to prepare the budget to carry out the civil work.
Educational Objectives of the EP
With the above, we describe the achievements that graduates of the PE in Civil Engineering are expected to attain a few years after graduation.
Civil Engineering, a few years after graduation. These objectives are based on the consultations made to the Consultative Committee and Curricular Committee of the Educational Program.
The following educational objectives reflect the medium-term expectations about the main professional functions, activities and contributions of the graduates in the field of civil engineering and society, congruent with the Mission of the Centro Universitario de la Costa of the University of Guadalajara.
OE 1. Graduates are successfully integrated into the labor market in the areas of Civil Engineering in both the public and private sectors, designing in both the public and private sectors, designing civil works projects with a multidisciplinary and sustainable approach.
OE 2. The graduates have completed advanced or postgraduate studies. They develop or direct technical or research projects and work in the field of higher education.
OE 3. Graduates demonstrate extensive knowledge in planning, construction, administration, geotechnics, hydraulics, roadways, structures and environmental sanitation, for civil works.
OE 4. Graduates will have the ability to plan, execute and supervise civil works, by optimizing material and financial resources and human capital; with social, ethical and ecological responsibility.
