At Centro Universitario de la Costa and specifically in the career of Surgeon and Midwife, the schedules are variable depending on the semester and the time load. We can hardly schedule a morning and an afternoon schedule, however, if there are schedules with departure at 15:00 hrs and schedules with entry at 11:00 hrs.

Surgeons and Midwives can work at all levels of care in the health sector, educational institutions, private companies, civil associations, municipal councils where health services are required. In addition to having the possibility of working as researchers in various areas of health.

Some examples are the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales para los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE), Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS), Unidades de la Secretaría de Salud Jalisco, Hospitales Civiles de Guadalajara (Fray Antonio Alcalde and Juan I. Menchaca), Vallarta Medical Center (VMC) & Hospital Joya.

8. When do I lose the right to ordinary and extraordinary?

Answer:

Ordinary
In order for the student to be entitled to the registration of the final result of the evaluation in the ordinary period, established in the school calendar approved by the H. Consejo General Universitario, it is required:
I. To be enrolled in the corresponding study plan and course; and
II. Have a minimum attendance of 80% to classes and activities registered during the course.
Extraordinary
In order for the student to be entitled to the registration of the grade in the extraordinary period, it is required:
I. To be enrolled in the corresponding syllabus and course.
II. To have paid the fee and present the corresponding receipt.
III. Have a minimum attendance of 65% in classes and activities registered during the course.

9. what happens if I fail a subject?

Answer:

The student who for any circumstance does not achieve a passing grade in the extraordinary period, must repeat the subject in the immediate following school cycle in which it is offered, having the opportunity to accredit during the ordinary evaluation process or in the extraordinary period.

What should I do if I am in articles 33 or 35?

Answer:

If at the end of the Extraordinary Evaluation period you have already failed for the second time one or more subjects and your status is Low due to Article 33 (Art. 33).

The student who has been dismissed according to Article 33 may request in writing to the Education Commission of the School or Center Board, before the beginning of the next cycle in which he/she has been dismissed, a new opportunity to accredit the subject(s) he/she owes.
You will have to go to Control Escolar with the following documentation:

  • Application Form for Art. 34 (download PDF at the end of the text).

  • Letter of motivation to request Art. 34 (download PDF at the end of the text).

  • Copy of IFE or student ID card.

  • Techenical form.

  • Form of payment of various certificates previously paid for the Coordinación de Control Escolar to issue the Kardex Certificado

Those students in Art. 33 who do not request their opportunity in the following cycle will be sanctioned with Art. 35 which is a definitive withdrawal from the University of Guadalajara and therefore will not be authorized to re-enter the career for which they were withdrawn.
