Mission
Our mission is to train from the academic, technological, social and cultural perspective, professionals of the Visual Arts with the ability to conceive and develop integral artistic projects that respond to the historical moment in which we live, to their social and consumer demand, with an impact on regional and national levels.
Vision
The philosophy of this degree is to develop artists with a comprehensive vision, by enabling their development in 4 key areas: the social, cultural, technological and academic. The key values to be emphasized include the freedom of expression, respect for one`s individuality, one`s profession and one`s culture, and commitment to society. Alongside this, a sense of identity and belonging is sought, with skills in the development of artistic work which plays a role in the social and cultural context. Attitudes of honesty, commitment, respect, criticality – including inner-criticality - and self-initiative are all sought.
Objetives
General objectives:
To increase and consolidate the academic and humanistic structure of the University of Guadalajara;
To help strengthen the production of visual arts in the region;
To integrate learning environments conducive to the development of multidisciplinary projects;
To encourage university students to participate in the creative process by incorporating new paradigms of plastic communication.
To develop personal skills for the professional development of the plastic arts.
Specific Objectives of the Visual Arts for Plastic Expression Program:
To train creative and innovative plastic artists who possess the skills for high quality professional practice, promote skills that facilitate the creation, reflective management and critical reporting on social reality;
To train researchers who generate and know how to formulate a well-founded, scientific and professional artistic and academic discourse;
Recognize the complexity of the variables that are articulated in the processes between art and the knowledge of other sciences, in turn, between the individual creative gesture and the current paradigm and contextual society;
