Mission

The Psychologist is a trained and scientifically trained professional to address the relationships of individuals and groups; describes and explains psychosocial phenomena and has the knowledge and skills to evaluate, diagnose, and develop attention and prevention programs for psychological, social, behavioral and affective problems.

Objetives

GENERAL OBJETIVE

To train psychologists committed to the pursuit of knowledge, techniques, skills and abilities that promote the development of the people to whom their professional work is directed and the efficient practice of psychology in the different fields of action. Having as a premise the respect for the dignity of the people to whom the service is provided.

Seek the resolution of problems and conflicts faced in each area of psychology, through the use of various methodologies that include levels of intervention ranging from diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of the intervention process, providing viable alternative solutions in the specific context of professional practice.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

The Psychology professional investigates, evaluates, diagnoses and intervenes:

  1. In the normal and/or pathological aspects related to the development, structure and functioning of the nervous system, its interaction with other biological systems and emotional, cognitive and behavioral processes.

  2. In the prevention of mental abnormalities or disorders or any other behavior relevant to health-disease processes, with an integrative vision of the human being.

  3. To know and manage the psychoeducational processes of learning and development that originate in school, family and society.

  4. In the prevention of problems and psychoeducational and socio-educational processes of individuals with special educational needs.

  5. In the different areas and contexts of social reality from a transdisciplinary perspective and with a critical, proactive and sustainable sense.

  6. In work structures and functions, in public and private organizations.

  7. To know the normal development of the human being's life cycle and the psychological processes involved.

  8. To understand the different psychological theories from a historical-critical perspective and to understand the complexity of the human psyche and its relationship with the context.

  9. In the handling of different techniques, tools and instruments of psychological evaluation and diagnosis.
