The Universidad de Guadalajara and the Hospital Civil de Guadalajara communicate that due to the global and national epidemiological evolution of the ZIKA, Dengue and Chikungunya diseases, we will carry out joint tasks that can be summarized in the following DECALOGUE:

  1. Permanent information campaign through our media regarding the evolution of these epidemiological threats and in particular the relevant measures we must adopt for the prevention of these vector-borne diseases.

  2. "Descacharrización" and elimination of containers that accumulate water in the dependencies of the University Network.

  3. Coordination with the Ministry of Health of Jalisco for fumigation in the University Network facilities that require it, based on a diagnosis of the presence of the Vector.

  4. Coordination with the municipal authorities for the "sanitation" of the environment of the University Centers that contributes to the control of the responsible vector.

  5. Creation of a network of first contact assistance and referral of symptomatic people to the Civil Hospitals of Guadalajara, IMSS, SSJ, etc.

  6. Permanent communication with the Health Authority for effective contribution to epidemiological surveillance.

  7. Personalized counseling (with the support of the Gynecology and Obstetrics divisions of the Civil Hospital of Guadalajara) to pregnant women or women planning a pregnancy, particularly regarding the hypothetical relationship of congenital malformations (microcephaly) in children born to mothers who had Zika during pregnancy.

  8. Review and improve university facilities in terms of the placement of mosquito nets, among others, in the regions of greatest risk due to vector density.

  9. Promote scientific research on clinical, immunological, molecular, virological, entomological and environmental aspects of these diseases within the University Network and in collaboration with other higher education, governmental and private institutions.

  10. Collaboration with health institutions for the application of vaccine against Dengue when available.
