In what circumstances can I be excused for class absences?
Students may justify their lack of attendance to classes for any of the following causes:
I. Due to illness;
II. For the fulfillment of a commission conferred by university authority, with knowledge of the Career Coordinator, in the University Centers.
III. Due to a justified force majeure that prevents the student from attending, in the opinion of the Career Coordinator in the University Centers and the School Director in the Upper Secondary Education System.
The maximum number of absences from classes that can be justified for a student will not exceed 20% of the total hours established in the program of the subject, except for that established in the last paragraph of article 54 of this ordinance.

How is the Degree programme paced?
The Program of Studies is designed to:
respect the individual learning rhythms of the student.
the student is responsible for the time devoted to study.
The pace at which you study will define when you finish your degree course; the programme does not adhere to fixed deadlines.
So it is up to the individual student to choose a pace at which to progress through the programme.
Therefore, there are no shifts.
What should I do to register for the courses I wish to take?
The curriculum is designed by training areas, thus allowing you to first acquire the basic knowledge for the profession and then to choose your area of specialization. In order to graduate you will need to complete the specified number of credits for the degree programme.
The courses (learning units) are specified in the SIIAU system, and identified according to your Career Study Plan by codes and an NRC; use this to identify appropriate courses and then select them to register for the courses you wish to take.
Each semester you must register for your courses by following the curricular map, and the Study Plan.
Remember that:
of the total number of credits established in a higher education curriculum, the minimum number of credits to be taken in a school year will be 30, the average is 60 and the maximum is 90 credits.

What do I do if I wish to contest my course grade?
When a student considers that an error has been made in a grade, a request in writing asking for the review of the result of the evaluation or of an examination should be made to the Head of the Department in charge of the matter in question
His request for a review should be made within three working days following the date in which the results of the evaluation or examination were published.

Where can I carry out my Professional Practices?
The student should begin Professional Practices as from when 70% of course credits have been completed.

When can I start my Social Service?
In the semester immediately following the completion of 60% of your course credits, you should register for your Social Service; your Social Service should be completed before covering the total number of credits specified in each area of formation of the curriculum.

Which are the ways to obtaining the degree modalities?
CERTIFICATION MODALITIES
Outstanding academic performance
Academic Excellence: This modality consists of automatically obtaining a minimum overall average of 95 (ninety-five), passing a maximum of 10% (ten percent) of the subjects in an extraordinary period.
Graduation by Average: This modality allows the automatic obtaining of the degree for having obtained a minimum global average of 90 (ninety), accrediting all the subjects corresponding to a study plan in the ordinary examination periods.
Exams:
Global Examination - Theoretical-Practical: It is the oral or written test that allows the assessment of the knowledge acquired by the students in their training to relate and apply them to specific situations of their professional work, which will be on the general knowledge acquired and on the practical aspects of the exercise itself.
Global Theoretical Examination: In this modality, the trainee undergoes an evaluation in relation to the specific curriculum of his/her academic training; he/she must take an oral or written examination, and it will be on general areas of knowledge, set of subjects or basic fundamentals of the professional practice.
General Professional Certification Exam: This exam is intended to identify the extent to which undergraduate students have the knowledge and skills for the practice of their profession, considering the general tests that accredit the score and the academic level of excellence of certification promoted and applied through the National Center for Higher Education Evaluation (CENEVAL).
Thesis: It is an unpublished research work, which will aim to present new knowledge, methods and interpretations on any aspect of a particular social reality.
Dissertation: It is a monographic work that can be done by undergraduate or professional education interns at a high school level, whose professions require a degree for their practice. The work must be written with a minimum length of 45 pages and a maximum of 60.

- How can I have the right to an ordinary and extraordinary evaluation?
In order for the student to be entitled to the registration of the final result of the evaluation in the ordinary period, established in the school calendar approved by the H. General University Council, the following is required:
I. To be enrolled in the corresponding curriculum and course, and
II. Have a minimum attendance of 80% in classes and activities registered during the course.
In order for the student to be entitled to the registration of the grade in the extraordinary period, it is required:
I. To be enrolled in the corresponding syllabus and course.
II. To have paid the fee and present the corresponding receipt.
III. Have a minimum attendance of 65% in classes and activities registered during the course.

What happens if I fail a subject?
The student who for any reason does not achieve a passing grade in the ordinary and extraordinary period, must repeat the subject in the next school year in which it is offered, having the opportunity to accredit it during the ordinary evaluation process or in the extraordinary period.
In case the student fails to accredit the subject in the terms of this article, he/she will be
Dismissed.

- What should I do if I am in article 33 or 35?
A student who has been withdrawn in accordance with article 33 of this regulation may request in writing to the Education Commission of the School or Center Board, before the beginning of the next cycle in which he/she has been withdrawn, a new opportunity to accredit the subject or subjects he/she owes.
The Education Commission of the School or Center Board may authorize a new opportunity to accredit the subject or subjects that the student owes in the following cycle in which the subject or subjects are offered, the student will have the opportunity to accredit the subjects he/she owes, only in the ordinary evaluation period, in case of not attending the course and not achieving a passing grade, in each and every one of the subjects he/she owes, he/she will be automatically and definitively dropped. Art. 35 will be applied.
